World Geography is designed to help students develop geographical skills to better understand and appreciate the different people, places and environments around the world. Students will study various themes including: population, culture, urbanization, agriculture, economics, and political systems. Students will use Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to create and interpret various types of maps.
Course materials: Web-based ArcGIS mapping software, readings, and videos are provided online.
Standards met: This course meets all standards and benchmarks in the Geography strand of the Minnesota Academic Standards in History and Social Studies for Grades 9-12.
