Consumer Math

Weekly Virtual Class Meeting: Mondays from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Time Commitment: 5-8 well-focused hours per week

Attendance: Simply logging in to your courses does not count as attending. Attendance is based on submitting assignments and is taken on a weekly basis. Submit all of your work by the weekly due date to be marked with good attendance.

Sequence: Length of course is dependent on the needs of the student

Consumer math is a special education course individualized for students with IEPs. This course focuses on real world math applications to help students build life skills needed to live independently. A variety of topics are covered throughout this year-long course, including basic career and post-secondary exploration, managing finances, budgeting, and planning for the future.

Standards met: This course does not meet high school standards. It may be counted as an elective unless listed as a math course in a student’s IEP.
