Weekly Virtual Class Meeting: Tuesdays from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Time Commitment: 5 – 8 well-focused hours per week
Attendance: Simply logging in to your courses does not count as attending. Attendance is based on submitting assignments and is taken on a weekly basis. Submit all of your work by the weekly due date to be marked with good attendance.
Prerequisites: None. Biology A and B can be taken independently of one another.
Credit: .25 credit per quarter
Terms: This course is four quarters in length
In these two semester-length courses, you will explore basic concepts of biology. You will learn about living systems at different levels, from cells to our biosphere. You will also develop critical thinking skills and discuss how biology is connected to dealing with different global challenges.
Course materials: A variety of online videos and readings are used for this course.
Standards met: Taken together, Biology A and B meet all Life Science standards and benchmarks of the 2019 Minnesota Science Standards for Grades 9-12.
