In Physics A, a semester-length course, you will learn about how Newton’s Laws affect your everyday motion.
In Physics B, also a semester course, you will explore the relationships among energy, motion and collisions. You will see how gravity affects small and large objects—including the planets! You will compare sound and light and explore the relationship between electricity and magnets. You will study how these important concepts are applied to everyday technology.
Course materials: Required videos and readings are available within the courses.
Standards met: Taken together these two courses meet all Physics standards and benchmarks of the 2019 Minnesota Science Standards for Grades 9-12.
Credit: 1.0 (Semester A = 0.5 credit, Semester B = 0.5 credit.)
Honors Opportunity: Yes
Prerequisites: Physics A and B may be taken independently of one another. Knowledge of pre-algebra is useful for both courses. The optional honors assignments within the courses require knowledge of algebra but not calculus.
