Weekly Virtual Class Meeting: Mondays from 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Time Commitment: 5 – 8 well-focused hours per week
Attendance: Simply logging in to your courses does not count as attending. Attendance is based on submitting assignments and is taken on a weekly basis. Submit all of your work by the weekly due date to be marked with good attendance.

Mastering the concepts of algebra is very important to continued success in other mathematics courses. There are three quarter length parts titled by the following topics; Linear Functions, Systems of Equations, and Exponential Functions. Students will learn the why and the how of the foundations of algebra including proportional reasoning, writing and evaluating algebraic expressions, solving equations, and graphing and writing linear functions.
This course will include:
- Weekly online class meetings
- Video explanations of the assignments
- Practice assignments in worksheet form
- Real-world problem solving questions
- Voice-thread and other assignments where students will participate by voice
- Quizzes and tests to evaluate students’ progress and understanding
Throughout the courses, students will actively participate in their own learning and will also benefit from personal feedback to help them continue to improve their mathematic skills.
Course materials: Online Algebra textbook at CK-12, Office 365, Desmos, and GeoGebra all included with enrollment
Standards Covered: Selected high school math standards in Algebra are met, but students will also need to complete Algebra 2 in order to meet all Algebra standards.
