Transition
This year-long course prepares students for a successful transition from high school to adult life by developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to achieve their postsecondary goals. Students explore career pathways, employment, postsecondary education and training, independent living, financial literacy, community participation, and self-advocacy while creating an individualized transition plan. Through real-world learning experiences, students identify their strengths, interests, and support needs while connecting with adult service agencies and community resources, including Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS), postsecondary education and training programs, and other organizations that support successful transitions to adulthood. The course emphasizes self-determination, informed decision-making, and building a personalized network of support for life after high school.
