MNOHS ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS

Minnesota Online High School tracks attendance by weekly course participation and submitted work. Simply logging in does not count as attendance. Students should submit coursework by weekly due dates to be marked with good attendance.

If a student is unable to participate because of illness or a personal emergency, families should report the absence as soon as possible and coordinate with teachers on make-up work.

How Attendance Is Counted

Attendance is based on active participation in coursework each week.

  • Logging in by itself does not count as attendance.
  • Attendance is tied to submitting assignments.
  • Work should be submitted by the weekly due date.

Report An Absence

Use the official MNOHS attendance form when a student cannot log in or submit assignments due to illness or personal emergency.

Students under 18 need a parent/guardian to submit the form. Students 18+ may contact the attendance line themselves by phone or email.

Supporting documentation from a doctor or health practitioner may be requested to verify an absence.

Stay On Track During An Absence

In addition to reporting the absence, students should check in with teachers right away to plan how to keep up or catch up with assignments.
