What do Elvis, Harry Potter, Modern Family, and Natalie Portman have in common? They are all part of our Popular Culture. In this Popular Culture course students will be able to recognize pop culture and how it affects their daily lives. Students will examine different forms of pop culture and connect how art imitates life when they identify pop culture around them and compare it to what goes on in their daily lives. Students will review movies, books, advertisements, and other forms of popular culture. They will be able to make connections using wikis, journals, articles, art, experiments, and many other activities. By the end of this semester long course, students will be able to interpret popular culture and understand how it impacts their lives.
