Quarter 3 begins January 30.
Confirmed enrollments accepted
through February 11--the sooner the better!

In this quarter length class, students learn and practice skills needed for college entrance and placement tests, future math classes, and life beyond high school. We’ll take an in depth look at some of the most important concepts that are essential pieces in your math toolkit! Focus will be placed on understanding why and how math works, not simply on computing answers.  Story problems, articles, and exploration will regularly be used to see how math connects to college, careers, everyday life and current events.

Course materials: There is no textbook for this course. Students will be provided with online resources including notes, videos and tutorials.

Standards Met: This course partially meets high school math standards by addressing selected portions of the Minnesota Academic Standards in Algebra and in Geometry and Measurement.

Credits: .25

Honors Opportunity: No

Prerequisite: Grade 10 or above; previous algebra course helpful
