This course will explore how design is used in modern communication. We will study various areas of design including: product, corporate, logo, album art, t-shirt, poster, and a variety of other design-related projects. Students will learn design rules, design trends, and how to critique good and bad design. This class will show students what the design industry is like and how a career in the design field might suit them.

Course materials: Students will use a variety of websites to edit and create their designs. The websites are all cloud based and no software will need to be downloaded.

Standards met: Most strands of the Minnesota Media Arts standards are addressed.
